Toronto Condo Development Spot Light - What To Watch For In 2019/2020

Toronto currently has the most active cranes in North America. 120 More than the next 4 cities combined! This makes it incredibly difficult to keep up with the new condo & housing developments that fit your personal criteria. Which ones are best for investment or rental income? Personal use or downsizing. It can be overwhelming! 25 years ago, condo buyers were singles in their 30s which is the smallest demographic of people buying today!  Here are some important developments slated for price release in 2019/2020. 

THE WELL - 444 Front St - Downtown Toronto

Built by Tridel, with the first phase selling now, The Well is going to be one of the largest mixed-use community in Toronto, with retail, commercial, office, condominium and rental components. Galleria On The Park - Dupont & Dufferin - West Toronto 

New developments are proposed all the time in Toronto, but few set out to revitalize an entire neighbourhood. This project set to breath new life into the Dupont and Dufferin area and the derelict and underused galleria mall. 

Galleria On The Park is a master-planned community by Elad Canada and Freed Developments.  Galleria will fuse urban living with a rarely seen massive park, public spaces, lifestyle experiences, exceptional retail and innovative office space. This new condominium development will overlook an extended and reconfigured Wallace Emerson park. Expansion plans include doubling the size of the community centre to 95,000 sq. ft., making it one of the largest in the city and expanding the park to nearly 8 acres. 

The first phase will see the western half of Galleria Mall demolished for two residential towers. A Master plan rendering by Toronto's Hariri Pontarini Architects, shows a total of 3,400 new dwelling units planned across eight mixed-use towers, along with plenty of retail space and a brand new Wallace Emerson Community Centre. The community centre, designed by Perkins + Will, will house a pool, a gymnasium, a fitness centre, indoor running tracks, a childcare centre, and multi-purpose activity and community rooms spread across three floors. A HUGE new park running along the southern portion of the Galleria Mall site will give visitors and residents access to everything, from an outdoor winter skating trail to a multi-purpose sports field.
