Rosedale

Named after the wild roses that grew in the area in the 1800's Rosedale is arguably one of Toronto's oldest and most charming neighbourhoods. The area of Rosedale in the 1800's was part of the estate of William Jarvis who's daughter in the mid 1800's gave the neighbourhood the name Rosedale. Much of the beauty of the neighbourhood is that it is is built between three protected ravines which are preserved as parkland. The streets are mostly two lanes, lined with huge mature trees & cul de sacs which limit the traffic throughout the neighbourhood. You won't be able to ignore the historic Edwardian and Tudor style homes as well as the more common Victorian and Georgian style homes. The exterior of many these homes harken to times long ago but on the inside have contemporary style and elegance. To top it off, Rosedale is literally minutes to the downtown core via subway and the Don Valley Parkway is close-by allowing commuters access north and south of the city fairly easily. The Summerhill Market is one of the most popular markets and Bloor St & Yonge St offer some of the best shopping in the city.
